Mr. Karl Schindler, Principal
|Dr. Brein Bashore, Assistant Principal |
My administrative responsibilities this year include Testing, 9th Grade Team, and Student Support Team. I will also be working with the CTE, Science and World Language Departments.
I’m originally from Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University. However, don’t let that fool you as I was born and raised a Notre Dame football fan! I then went on to complete graduate programs at both Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland. I love to travel and some of my favorite places include Ecuador, Mexico, Italy, Ireland, and Cuba. I look forward to meeting you all and to a great school year!

Mr. Daniel Sageman, Athletics and Activities Manager
I am extremely excited to accept the position of Athletics and Activities Manager at Glenelg High School. I have always been impressed by Glenelg’s high level of standards for academics, athletics, and the arts.
I would like to tell you a little about my background, I began my teaching career at Long Reach High school 17 years ago, moving to Marriotts Ridge in 2005. During that time I taught Chemistry, Forensics, and held the position of Science ITL. My coaching career has been a rewarding one; I officially began coaching lacrosse for Freedom Optimist in 1991, moving up to South Carroll High School in 1994, and then Howard County in 1996 at Long Reach, Mt. Hebron, and Marriotts Ridge. During those years, I have coached football, lacrosse, and field hockey.
I am married and have two daughters, ages 7 and 10, and we live in Carroll County. My daughters play soccer but spend countless hours at the Savage Dance Company, in Eldersburg. If I am not at Glenelg, I will probably be at the studio or a dance competition.
I am excited to bring my experiences in athletics to Glenelg, and I look forward to working personally with and getting to know all of you. Together with Glenelg’s outstanding coaching staff and supportive administration, I am confident we can continue to compete at the highest levels.
